I don't even know what a Lutherian is...we're not religious this part of the world like the US is :3
Are they like Mormons or the Amish? (we don't have those guys either really).
All the jokes are basically around all that, so we're not exactly laughing when watching the show...it's a weird comedy.
Think Church of England/Uniting Church, but a little more prudish. Basically another protestant group who bailed from Europe due to more mainstream religions making it tough for them to do their thing their way.

Regardless, this show is more about pity jokes than anything. Like pity the fake Pastor who has to play gay and can't make it with the hot chick. Pity the hot chick for falling for unavailable guys all the time. Pity the gay guy who will never get it on with his fixation (the fake gay Pastor). Pity the old guy for being in a loveless marriage and falling for a hooker, which he hasn't figured out yet. Pity the hooker for genuinely liking the old guy, because when he finds out she's a hooker he's going to walk away from her (at least for a while). Pity the fat efficient chick for...being "unattractive" (in hollywood terms) and on nobody's radar?

It's not a type of a show where someone tells a joke (followed by a laugh track) or does something incredibly stupid. You just have to be open to all kinds of comedy (and don't mind making fun of Lutherans ;)).

It's entertaining, but it's also weird for a comedy, because I'm not sure I'm actually laughing at any point during the show :3
I think most of it is feeling sorry for someone or another.

A lot darker than I thought it would be. I'm liking it though.

Trying this out now, love it so far. Michael Rosenbaum always annoyed me as Lex in Smallville, but I think he's perfect in this so far.
