Kate Kane, armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city's criminal resurgence. But don't call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham's symbol of hope.
This one's just boring, which makes it top tier CW in my book as opposed to the actively painful Flash and Legends. Still has the same problem as the comics though, which is the lack of villains. Bringing in new versions using the Batman gallery weapons is actually a pretty good idea even if the execution is just more CW-ish-ness. I worry that the Naomi series will be worse in that respect since neither she nor her one villain were terribly well fleshed out in the comics and there's practically nothing to draw from.

A very gay show idd, just casually her a batty is so strange. :p
Anyhow like the franchise so.. :P
It is ok. Eps 7 season 3 was fun pairing Mary and Alice together, a real comedy duo not seen sofar.Though not sure what turning Mary, the doctor, the drab asian girl into Poson Ivy in eps 7 "Pick your poison" means. I mean that very last scene see her in a oh so tight around the waist corset, talk about hour glass figure. I get the impression when shows start to sex up characters the show is in trouble need to stir up interest & they certainly did that lol
I never was tempted to watch this show, and some reviews say that the budget was quite small (too small), which probably contributed to the poor IMDb rating.

so Ruby Rose is leaving Batwoman. shame she was just getting into the part? So some one new for season 2. I suppose they will have to do a Doctor Who transformation lol
or more likely assume that Alice did her a new face ......

Yes she is a bit butch ( and heavily tattooed) and if you are a guy you wont be dating her any time soon.
 I bet there are guys out there who are into women like here. :) Maybe him:
Ruby Rose? well I had another look at eps 1 and dont understand why you feel her performance is some how weak and awkward. Yes she is a bit butch ( and heavily tattooed) and if you are a guy you wont be dating her any time soon. seemed one of the better DC universe shows with less of the suspension of belief the others require all the time

Why does " it comes across awkward much of the time and misses the mark most of the time".?
Whatshername, the lead actress, is weak, imho. Any scenes with her feel a bit awkward and often miss the mark. The acting overall is mediocre as well as the storyline and writing. Action sequences are only fair to partly cloudy.
In general, the personality of this Batwoman doesn't appeal to me personally.
If you enjoy it, that's great and it's good there's variety for everyone. I did complete most of the Defenders series btw, ie Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Daredevil, The Punisher, and Iron Fist.
Here's a link to that other thread I referenced : https://forum.next-episode.net/viewtopic.php?id=9857
That probably includes, The 100, Taboo, Animal Kingdom, Snowfall, The Last Kingdom, etc...
To be fair, I'll probably finish Batwoman at some point, but it may be a while. :D

In fact I think I would prefer a Alice and Poison Ivy show. Subordinate Batwoman from the star role
Any way not many shows from the CW stable worth watching at the moment. Flash is tired, Legends too silly I can never get in the mood to watch it
Anyhow like the franchise so.. :P
