Stumbled upon this one by coincidence. Watched the first two episodes and I kinda like it.
Yes, it's absolutely overacted and the lead Yumeko doesn't feel like a real person, but I think that was the intention.
But the way she is "acting" in front of the others with an obvious hidden agenda makes me want to watch more.
I like shows where money, strength, etc. are replaced by something else like gambling or a point system. It gives way to some more imaginative ways of social structuring - in that perspective this reminds me of and .
In the title credits it says it is based off the japanese manga series "Kakegurui".
Had to look that one up and apparently the manga already has has two anime adaptions + as well as a japanese live action adaption and two live action movies which is pretty impressive.
Probably gonna give the anime also a watch.
Also, since this show isn't taking place in Japan, 99% of the characters are not japanese. I am sure the creators of the original (or japanese people in general) are gonna like that :).
