Toma Kamijo is the most unlucky person in the whole world, that is because of some special power that he has, if he touches someone with supernatural powers he instantly nullifies them, but that is also what is causing his terrible luck. One day he meets a girl, which calls herself Index and claims to be pursued by magicians. From that day on Toma's life was turned upside-down, he is now protecting the girl by the name of Index, which is anything but easy.

The plot follows a team of mercenaries known as Lagoon Company, who smuggle goods in and around the seas of Southeast Asia.
