Directed by Peabody and Emmy winner Fritz Mitchell, Saturdays in the South: A History of SEC Football is an eight-part documentary series that tells the tale of the SEC from its very beginnings to its powerful present. Featuring interviews with more than 100 SEC figures past and present such as Peyton Manning, Joe Namath, Herschel Walker and Bo Jackson, as well as Steve Spurrier, Vince Dooley, Les Miles and Nick Saban, the film will chronicle the progression of teams, heroes and traditions while examining a deeper narrative of the South and its history. The indelible moments of nearly 90 years of SEC football encompass the larger journey of the region and span across the evolution of America as well.
Southern Hoops: A History of SEC Basketball
During the upcoming college basketball season, SEC Network will premiere "Southern Hoops: A History of SEC Basketball," a seven-part SEC Storied documentary chronicling the origin and progression of the sport for both men and women in the conference as the sport approaches the 75th anniversary of the first NCAA Championship won by an SEC institution.
