The title segment, George of the Jungle, is a spoof of the popular Tarzan story. The title character, George (voiced by Bill Scott), is a dim-witted but big-hearted "ape man" who lives in the jungle. He is called upon each episode to save its inhabitants from various threats. In the episode teaser, he is famous for not looking where he is swinging and thus slamming face-first into trees or other obstacles to the tune of, "George, George, George of the Jungle." George's love interest is Ursula (voiced by June Foray), whom George refers to as, "Fella." He has an ape for a friend, appropriately named Ape (voiced by Paul Frees), who is far more intelligent than George. Then there is Shep, George's pet elephant who acts like a lap dog, or as George calls him, "great big peanut-lovin' poochie." Also of note is the Tooky Tooky (or Tookie Tookie) bird famous for his call: "Ah ah ee ee tooky tooky."

The Jackson 5ive was a Saturday morning cartoon series produced by Rankin/Bass and Motown Productions on ABC from September 11, 1971 until 14 October 1972; a fictionalized portrayal of the careers of Motown recording group The Jackson 5. The series was rebroadcast in syndication through Worldvision Enterprises during the 1984-1985 Saturday morning season, during a period when Michael Jackson was riding a major wave of popularity as a solo artist. The series was animated mainly in London at the studios of Halas and Batchelor, and some animation done at Estudios Moro, Barcelona, Spain.

Lassie is the leader of The Rescue Rangers, a group of wild animals living in the park, working alongside the Turners to help protect the environment and keep it safe for visitors.

Kaptain Kool and the Kongs (Superchick, Nashville, Turkey, and for the first season, Flatbush) were a colorful rock band who acted as hosts of this late-1970s weekly show. Besides introducing the various shows, Kaptain Kool and the Kongs would performs songs and participate in various skits. The first season featured episodes of Electra Woman and Dyna Girl, Dr. Shrinker, and Wonderbug. Initially, the show ran in a 90-minute timeslot with the final half-hour filled out with shortened The Lost Saucer reruns. Starting December 4, the show was cut back to an hour for the remainder of the run and The Lost Saucer reruns were dropped. During the second season, only Wonderbug stayed (with six new episodes and the remainer repeats from the previous season) while Magic Mongo and Bigfoot and Wildboy were added.

Luckily being a 40 foot purple ape means there aren't too many problems you just can't sit on. Grape Ape's comic book life was pretty short - only 2 regular issues of his own title. He first appeared on ABC's The Tom and Jerry/Grape Ape show between 1975-1976. He then appeared in his very own half hour show in 1977 and was a regular on Scooby Doo's All Star Laff-a-lympics as a member of the Yogi-Yahooeys between 1978-1980.

Bigfoot and Wildboy was a Sid and Marty Krofft live action children's television series on ABC. It began in 1976 as a part of The Krofft Supershow on Saturday mornings. Each episode was 15 minutes long, with cliffhanger endings resolved the following week. It became its own series in 1979 with twelve 30-minute episodes. There were a total of 28 episodes produced. "Bigfoot and Wildboy" was very similar to five episodes from another ABC series The Six Million Dollar Man, which included Bigfoot, who was the protector of aliens from outer space. Episodes for "Bigfoot and Wildboy" are hard to find, even from collectors. Only two releases were available in the 1980s by Embassy Video, "Bigfoot and Wildboy Volume One" and "Bigfoot and Wildboy Volume Two." Both are now out of print. Columbia House had released "The World Of Sid and Marty Krofft" series, which contained "Bigfoot and Wildboy" episodes. Rhino Video released a three-DVD collection also called "The World Of Sid and Marty Krofft" in 2002 included "The Return Of The Vampire" episode. Cox Cable's "Retro Saturday Morning" aired the first eight two-part episodes of "Bigfoot and Wildboy" in 2003 and 2004 as part of the second season of the Krofft Supershow. Rhino Video has released some of the other Sid and Marty Krofft series such as H.R. Pufnstuf, The Bugaloos, and Sigmund and the Sea Monsters as DVD collections. When Rhino Video was contacted in 2006, there were no current plans for a DVD-set for the "Bigfoot and Wildboy" series. Ray Young, who played "Bigfoot," appeared in many other television shows, including an episode of The Bionic Woman called "Iron Ships And Dead Men" on March 30, 1977, but not as Bigfoot. Young died of lung cancer on July 6, 1999. Joseph Butcher, who played "Wildboy," is in the real estate business. In 2004, he appeared in an episode of 55 Degrees North as Jack Timson Jr. Monika Ramirez, who played "Susie," appeared in many television shows in the 1970s, including an episode of The Brady Bunch called "The Personality Kid", alongside Christopher Knight, who would later appear with her in the Bigfoot and Wildboy episode "White Wolf". In 2001, she appeared as Donna Skyhawk in an episode of Any Day Now. Yvonne Regalado, who played "Cindy," is now Yvonne Regalado Martin and is an opera singer. (Wikipedia)
