A small, Finnish seaside town is preparing to celebrate midsummer's eve. An unknown enemy arrives and takes the entire area hostage.

The Grandmaster is a surprisingly unusual entertainment program for the whole family, in which the Grandmaster, a manor lord who is strongly inclined to comics, has invited Finnish humor professionals to do some slightly strange tasks. Jaakko Saariluoma will be seen in the role of Grandmaster, with Pilvi Hämäläinen judging the pre-judges of his competitors as his right hand. Jukka Hildén, Janne Kataja, Jenni Poikelus and Roni Bäck will star in the program and compete for the Grandmaster's popularity. In each episode, they are allowed to explore the limits of their insight in a variety of tasks that require intelligence, skill, and wit. The studio is also joined by period-specific visitors who have fun during the season (Minka Kuustonen, Jorma Uotinen, Mikko Penttilä, Hjallis Harkimo and Juha Perälä). The program is based on the British format 'The Taskmaster'. The program for MTV is produced by Rabbit Films.
