After seeing Izumi Sano at a high jump competition, Mizuki Ashiya became completely enamored by him, even moving from the United States to Japan and enrolling in the same institute as him. However, Sano's academy is an all-boys school!Due to her bright personality, Mizuki quickly befriends her classmates without drawing suspicion to her gender. To her surprise, she ends up being not only Sano's classmate but also his roommate. Though she is now able to admire Sano in close proximity, she learns that Sano has quit high jumping and refuses to pick up the sport ever again for unknown reasons. Moreover, the academy's doctor, Hokuto Umeda, might be onto Mizuki's facade. Now, Mizuki has to find a way to reignite Sano's passion-all without revealing her secret.

The story centers around a poor teenage girl named Shan Chai (Barbie Hsu), who at the insistence of her parents goes to a university for rich people. The university is dominated by Dao Ming Si (Jerry Yan), Hua Ze Lei (Vic Zhou), Mei Zuo (Vanness Wu) and Xi Men (Ken Chu), four rich and handsome but arrogant students collectively known as 'F4', short for 'Flower 4'. They are heirs to four rich and influential families in Taiwan. They terrorize the school by handing out red cards to those they do not like, which allows other students to bully the victims until they leave the school. After one of Shan Chai's friends receives the wrath of F4's leader, Dao Ming Si, and receives a red card, Shan Chai stands up to Dao Ming Si and slaps him, which in turn results in a red card of her own. However, Shan Chai's persistence in standing up for what is right gradually gains F4's respect and Dao Ming Si falls in love with her.

Right before the National High School Basketball Championship Game, Duan Chenfeng accidentally hits and paralyzes Angel, the sister of his biggest opponent Iceman. In Iceman's absence, Duan Chenfeng wins the MVP Award but is overtaken by guilt. He quietly quits school and basketball to take care of Angel, leaving his loving girlfriend Xiao Xi heartbroken. Soon the calculating Angel develops feelings for Duan Chenfeng, as the charming Prince vows to win Xiao Xi's heart. Meanwhile, Xiao Xi organizes a basketball team for her school and is determined to transform it from a laughingstock to a respectable power.
