A successful spin-off of This Old House, this series sends experts Tom Silva (contracting, renovation, carpentry, home repair), Rich Trethewey (heating, air conditioning, plumbing, ventilation) and Roger Cook (gardening, landscaping, hardscaping) to the homes of viewers. Viewers write the show and producers select questions of broad interest and send the appropriate expert. For some special problems, like wells or electrical work, the "Ask" expert coordinates with a local contractor and with him narrates the project. Occasionally, follow-up discussions occur in the barn following the segment, where the experts and host Kevin O'Connor consider alternatives or clarify potentially murky points.

Also featured are in-studio demonstrations, new product reviews, "house call" visits, and guest specialists, including master carpenter Norm Abram.

Designers, carpenters and landscapers are brought into an unsuspecting homeowner's house while they're "out" to redecorate and reinvent all sorts of living spaces. There's an accomplice that keeps the other guest out of the house while the work is done and finds out all sorts of information to be used later in a prize trivia segment where they have the chance to win extra luxuries for their new space.

America's top designers, builders, architects and landscapers go head-to-head each week, putting their talents to the test on extreme home renovations. They'll tackle spaces that are architecturally diverse, resulting in epic transformations with impeccable design. These incredible transformations will be judged by host Nate Berkus and a panel of experts to determine which team achieved the best results. The losing team will then be forced to send one team member home. In the live finale, the two remaining competitors will each design and renovate a home on their own, bringing their unique visions to life. America will then vote and crown one contestant the winner.
