The librarians are the guardians of powerful and magical relics, and have been for centuries, and often undertake global-spanning adventures to recover items and store them in the Library. Some of the relics in the library include; the Ark of the Covenant, the Spear of Destiny, Excalibur and Pan's Flute.

Four gifted children from different countries around the world are chosen to become Xiaolin Dragons, each with their own element: Omi: Dragon of Water from China, Kimiko: Dragon of Fire from Japan, Raimundo: Dragon of Wind from Brazil and Clay: Dragon of Earth from America. They travel around the world to collect Shen Gong Wu, mystical artifacts that have been protecting the balance of power between good and evil for millennia.

Now with help from a new team member, the Xiaolin Dragons-in-training return to fight the ever-growing Heylin side as well as find and protect more of the supernatural ancient artifacts known as the Shen-Gong-Wu.

Confronted with the truth, Lu Chen decides to act according to his heart rather than conventional notions of good and evil.
