October 6, 1973. Arab states led by Egypt and Syria launched a surprise invasion and nearly overran Israel during the holiest day of the Jewish calendar: Yom Kippur. The story is told through the eyes of three characters, whose lives were thrown into the heart of battle and its intoxicating, addictive effects as well as its absurdities.

The series, set in 2008, depicts three Israeli soldiers who were captured seventeen years ago while on a secret mission with their unit in Lebanon. The story begins with their return home after years of negotiations for their freedom. Nimrod Klein and Uri Zach return alive, while the remains of Amiel Ben-Horin come back in a coffin.

The series, loosely based on the true story of the assassination in Dubai of a senior Hamas official Mahmoud al-Mabhouh - the co-founder of military wing of the Islamist Palestinian group Hamas on 19 January 2010, revolves around five ordinary Israeli citizens who discover one morning via the media that they are the principal suspects of a high-profile kidnapping and are implicated as culprits in the kidnapping.

With unique personal archive from civilians and soldiers from both sides of the conflict, this series takes viewers closer to the realities of war and life under Isis than they have ever been before.

The series shows what happens behind the scenes at the IDF's intelligence unit 8200, whose successes prevent catastrophe and whose failures may result in war.
