This show follows Billy as he attempts to fulfill one of his lifelong dream of traveling the world's most famous highway, Route 66. The road goes from Chicago to Santa Monica and is the embodiment of the American dream. Along the way Billy will take a look at the skyscrapers of Chicago and St Louis to the Wild West of Oklahoma and Texas.

The Hairy Bikers (Si King and Dave Myers) embark on their most iconic road trip to date - America's Route 66, to celebrate the food, history and culture that lies within this rich, rustic part of US. The boys motor through nine different states, carved into six legs, spanning over two thousand miles in which they visit destinations like Chicago, St Louis and Las Vegas, and travel through incredible landscapes from vast prairies in Oklahoma to the staggering scale of the Grand Canyon.

Tod, from a once-wealthy family, inherited only a Corvette when his father died, so he and Buz (suddenly jobless because he worked for Tod's father's company) strike out across North America, especially along the iconic Route 66 from Chicago to L.A. which the Okies traveled. Tod and Buz take local jobs (such as shrimping, shipbuilding, oil rigging) to support their wanderings. The 2 socially conscious knights of the road, encourage, champion, and learn from oppressed and troubled people they encounter.
