Upright
Tim Minchin stars in Upright, an eight-part series about two misfits, thrown together by chance in the middle of the Australian desert, who forge the unlikeliest of bonds in their quest to get a precious piano from one side of the country to the other. He plays Lucky Flynn, alongside newcomer Milly Alcock in the road-trip adventure, which takes places between Sydney and Perth.
Lucky Flynn hasn't spoken to his family in years. He's broke, distant and damaged. He's also a gifted pianist, whose talent for music is matched only by his talent for self-destruction. When he learns that his mother has only days left to live, Lucky sets off in a hire car to drive the 4,000km from Sydney to Perth to say goodbye, taking with him his only cherished possession in the world: a battered and scarred upright piano.
But what should have been a straightforward drive across the outback soon becomes a test of Lucky's emotional fitness, when he quite literally runs into Meg, a hilarious, tough-as-nails teenager, who we soon discover has plenty of scars and secrets of her own.
Tore
When 27-year-old Tore loses the most important person in his life in a garbage truck accident, he does everything he can to suppress his grief. During the days, he continues to work at his father's funeral home as if nothing has happened and starts flirting with the new florist Erik. At night, he establishes himself on a party boat in the city and experiences alcohol, sex and drugs for the first time. A new and beautiful, but risky, world suddenly opens up to Tore, but his best friend Linn and the colleagues at the funeral home quickly start to worry that Tore is about to lose his footing in his desperate attempts to escape reality.
Rebecca (2021)
Six years after quitting the Paris police force and abandoning the hunt for a serial killer, Rebecca is back on the job. And as she investigates a spate of brutal murders that all carry the same signature, she becomes convinced the killer has resurfaced. Obsessed with the case, betrayed by her husband, and hampered by both depression and crippling blackouts, she throws herself into work to avoid falling apart. But Rebecca's attempts to track down the murderer only bring her demons to the surface.
When one of the victims turns out to be her husband's young mistress, Rebecca struggles to piece together the fragments of her erratic memory. And, as the evidence piles up, she is faced with the terrifying realization that she herself may be the culprit.
