Dancing with the Stars is a unique series that pairs up celebrities with professional ballroom dance partners in an intense competition -- live -- in front of a studio audience and the nation. Each season has a select number of celebrity/professional dance pairs. The pairs are then judged by a panel of expert judges as well as by the viewers at home. One team is eliminated each week.
Love Island (US)
A group of single islanders compete for a chance at love and friendship in a gorgeous villa in Fiji. Every few days, participants must find a partner, and those who fail to do so risk being cast out from the island, while the remaining couples must win over not only each other, but viewers, to take home the cash prize.
Ask This Old House
A successful spin-off of This Old House, this series sends experts Tom Silva (contracting, renovation, carpentry, home repair), Rich Trethewey (heating, air conditioning, plumbing, ventilation) and Roger Cook (gardening, landscaping, hardscaping) to the homes of viewers. Viewers write the show and producers select questions of broad interest and send the appropriate expert. For some special problems, like wells or electrical work, the "Ask" expert coordinates with a local contractor and with him narrates the project. Occasionally, follow-up discussions occur in the barn following the segment, where the experts and host Kevin O'Connor consider alternatives or clarify potentially murky points.
