Renovation Realities

Home renovation looks so easy on TV. We see a project move quickly and smoothly from start to finish - and the results are always beautiful. But somewhere between "before" and "after" there are always at least a few speed bumps - and one great story. Budgets skyrocket, tempers flare, relationships suffer. This is real life, and "Renovation Realities" proves that even in home improvement, truth is often stranger than fiction.

Framework

This show will showcase the nation's best emerging furniture designers as they compete for a $100,000 cash prize and the opportunity for their work to be sold by a major manufacturer. Over the course of ten weeks, 13 of these innovative and inspiring builders will put their artistry and skill to the test in a series of challenges. The competitors will be pushed to the brink of their physical and creative limits with challenges that ask them to reconsider everything they know about designing and building furniture. The builders will use unconventional materials, rethink classic furniture pieces, and incorporate a variety of techniques and disciplines to demonstrate their mastery of furniture creation. In each episode, a contestant will be eliminated by a panel of judges led by host Common. Throughout his career as an artist, Common has been on the cutting edge of trends and brings his keen eye for style and understanding of consumer desire to the competition. He will be joined by two of the most influential names in the furniture world today; Nolen Niu and Brandon Gore.

John, never a man to stay down, rebuilt his empire with five ambitious agents to create The McMonigle Team, with one of their primary goals being to beat The Relegance Group. Relegance is made up of five zealous agents, including the "real estate queen" of Orange County, Jojo Romeo, who happens to have a contentious past with John. As an estranged employee of John's, she became determined to join Relegance and help them become the #1 team in the O.C. However, it's a small world, and when they vie for the same high end clients, limited listings and large commissions, the competition can be ruthless. With 10 agents, eccentric clients, multi-million-dollar deals, old vendettas, and one common goal of winning, all is fair in real estate and war.
