The show returns to Givens' story eight years after he's left Kentucky and he is now based in Miami, balancing life as a Marshal and part-time father of a 14-year-old girl. A chance encounter on a Florida highway sends him to Detroit and he crosses paths with Clement Mansell, aka The Oklahoma Wildman, a violent sociopath who's already slipped through the fingers of Detroit's finest once and wants to do so again

This show is about U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens, a modern day 19th century-style lawman, who enforces his brand of justice to put a target on his back with criminals and puts him at odds with his bosses in the Marshal service. As a result, he gets reassigned to the U.S. District covering the town where he grew up.

Police officer Michael Raines has something that is either a gift, a curse, or a little bit of both. His life is full of uninvited visitors from beyond the grave. They're the ghosts of murder victims, seeking his help to solve their cases and put their souls to rest.

Boomtown follows one crime from multiple perspectives, including cops, detectives, witnesses, media, and criminals. Set in present-day Los Angeles. The show explores the complex nature of crime and its impact on various individuals and institutions, including the fire department and rescue squad.
