Filmed on the remote Scottish island of Gigha, Murder Island is based around a murder plot, written and developed by Ian Rankin, that stars a group of amateur detectives who will compete to solve a crime and build a "watertight case" that can stand up in court.

A factual entertainment format in which Fern Brady, Darren Harriott and Ivo Graham travel across the nation discovering and interrogating the stereotypes and traditions that make up British life today and, in the process, create their very own 'brutally honest' guide to the UK.
