Antonio Dumas, a prestigious, intellectual, sophisticated, though also rather cynical and conceited art historian and cultural manager, is appointed director of an important museum of modern art in Madrid after winning a contest for that position. In this new position he will have to deal with a variety of different circumstances and conflicts, which range from trade union problems and political pressures to surreal situations involving exhibitions and artists, in the midst of the unusual fauna that inhabits the art world.

An iconic bon vivant, who barely has enough resources to maintain his affluent lifestyle, hires a young woman from Paraguay to replace the recently deceased maid who took care of him for more than 40 years.

Eliseo is the superintendent of an upscale building. On the surface, is cordial and docile in his role, but underneath Eliseo believes himself the omnipotent figure of the community - meddling in the affairs of residents and pulling strings as he sees fit. Eliseo's only concern is protecting his job, which comes under threat by a proposed pool project.

Selva is an eccentric and renowned couples therapist who is challenged in the way of analyzing her when she arrives at her office from Elías and Malena, a pair of lovers who are looking for help to separate. Faced with this new and unexplored challenge, Selva embarks with this couple in a type of atypical therapy, which will make her go beyond all the limits allowed in her profession.
