Series is based on what Maria has accepted to be "her life." The occasionally surreal episodes, refracted across multiple periods of the actor/comedian's life, tell the story of a woman who loses - and then finds - herself.

The devil sends the Hellmans to Earth, and has them pretend to be an average Texan family. Their mission: Stop the humans from drilling to the center of the Earth.

Sam Sullivan is a guy right out of college who becomes the first among his friends to get a real job, as a Chicago-based airline's youngest executive, and straddles the fence between slacker and working man.
