An exotic dancer, cryogenically frozen in the year 2001, is accidentally thawed out in 2525 by two female warriors who are fighting against evil robots which have taken over the world.

The series is a spin-off of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. Xena first appeared in 3 Hercules episodes during the shows first season, The Warrior Princess, The Gauntlet and Unchained Heart, sometimes labeled "The Xena Trilogy".
