Caught up to Episode 7 just now...

The story is good and I like the characters, but the storytelling and worldbuilding kinda suck...

...so far many of the things they shown us don't make sense, are either ignored after they happened or described a lot more harmless than they actually were.
If that doesn't change by the end of the season...this is going to be rather disappointing.

1.)
The attack on the village is so far only described as that, an "attack" - the fact that it looked like half the village was slaughtered - which should include many people Yuru knew and were friends with - has never been mentioned again.
Even worse, now that we are inside the Kagemori manor everyone is friendly and happy and whatnot.

If the goal of the attack would've just been "get Yuru out" and "try not to kill anyone" this would've made a lot more sense. After all, the Kagemori people are the good guys...right?

2.)
The assassins from the village who constantly attacked Asa and her parents...at first that sounds ok, but...the village did not seem that big, if constantly people went down the mountain, wouldn't Yuru have noticed people going and never coming back at some point?

The only explanation so far that would make sense is that the assassins didn't actually come from the village but were the same people that attacked the manor...but that does not seem the case.

3.)
In the Kagemori manor..the moment they went through the barrier Left and Right said that there are too many Daemons to count or discern from each other...but when the attack happens only the Daemons/Wielders we already know fight the intruders...wtf? Where are all the others? Are they all non-combatants?...hard to believe.

4.)
Asa told her whole story...but they completely left out if Asa ever confronted her parents about leaving Yuru behind. Wouldn't she want to know why he isn't with them? Wouldn't she be angry at her parents?

I still have high hopes that they can turn this around, but they need to at least adress no. 1 as soon as possible.

Since this is from the same author, Hiromu Arakawa, as - argueably one of the best anime ever - I was looking forward to this one in the spring anime season the most.

First episode was good. Animation looks great.
Typical anime characters, no one jumped out as unique so far.
Story looks interesting, looking forward to where this goes.

Definitely gonna keep watching for now.
