The ingenious but somewhat eccentric forensic scientist Dr. Viktoria Wex from Berlin leads a family death to Pasym in Masuria. The solitary forensic technician soon slips unexpectedly into a murder investigation, much to the displeasure of Detective Inspector Zofia Kowalska from the state capital Olsztyn. She is supported by the village police officer Leon Pawlak from Pasym.
