Set in serial killer-ravaged Miami sometime in the 1980s, Dexter: Origins will begin as Dexter graduates college to join Miami Metro, where he meets younger versions of many of the characters we came to know in the original Dexter. And, of course, the show will also focus on Dexter's family, including a very-much-alive Harry and a very formidable, teenage Deb.
I'M so angry and annoyed they cancelled the show!!!

While I really did not like New Blood, I very much enjoy Original Sin. For the most part the cast is really amazing. The only two which for me are a bit off are Masuka and Harry. While I like Christian Slater, somehow I feel he is not Harry..., Alex Shimizu is just not that good actor and not a good Twen-Masuka. Patrick Gibson does an outstanding job. Absolutely love his Young Dexter.
Also the whole world building is just awesome and as we are here deep in the early 90s, maybe some things which I did not like in New Blood are just not a problem here. ;)

I am loving this. I find the majority of characters spot on and the writing is great.

I skipped the revival so I was a bit confused in the beginning, but once that was past into the old narration with the young Dex, I got into it. Honestly, I didn't need any of that bookending with however the last show ended, I used to watch the original until I gave up on it cause it got too convoluted for my liking. So, I wasn't crazy to pick any of that up.
However, giving Dexter the Young Sheldon treatment has me onboard and, for the most part, this prequel has the right energy... plus the cast is freakin' spectacular. I just hope they don't drag it out, like they did with the original.

Quite liked this.
Also, very happy that Dexter is still alive
Wasnt a fan of the Masuka actor though. Also, it seem that he was off camera every time he did his iconic laugh almost as if the actor couldnt get it right so they used a voice over from the original actor.
