For those of you who have (US) Netflix and don't mind reading English sub-titles, this show is awesome. I wish I had a better summary for El Marginal. I put an alternate summary into google translater and modified it in a couple places. One sentence I don't really get sufficiently to modify is "Thus becomes a prisoner with no witnesses who know their true identity."
The Marginal, the new series of Sebastián Ortega to be seen by the public TV
After the success story of a clan, Underground has a new project. It is Marginal, a fiction starring Juan Minujín be issued by the Public Television and has some points in common with Tumberos , one of the first productions of Sebastian Ortega.
The plot will focus on Miguel Dimarco (Minujín), an ex-cop who was admitted as a convict in the prison of San Onofre under a false identity (Pastor) and an invented cause. His mission is to infiltrate a gang of prisoners who just kidnapped the daughter of a judge and he has to discover the whereabouts of the girl and help free her. Miguel meets the objective but someone betrays him. Thus becomes a prisoner with no witnesses who know their true identity. His only salvation is to escape ...
I've been binge watching it, I've watched 9 episodes and have 4 to go before the season finale.
The summary from IMDb has some errors, like 'recluses' should be 'prisoners', or 'inmates', and Guzman is a female social worker (Ema) but not a prison psychologist nor a part of the Mafia structure at the prison, however, the psychologist (not sure of the actor or character's name off hand) who treats Diosito, I think would be considered a part of the mafia structure.
