The reconversion of fishing has left a part of the Galician(Spain) fleet on land and hundreds of owners in debt. No work. In the many fishing villages that cross the Galician(Spain) coast, the lack of income and daily payments strangle family economies. It is the perfect breeding ground for the great transformation to take place: the former tobacco traffickers make the leap to something bigger, more lucrative, but much more dangerous: drugs. The smuggling of tobacco, which in some way had taken root in society for years, gives way to drug trafficking. Traffickers in the area contact the Colombian drug cartels and start trafficking in cocaine. The white powder drug trafficking - which is already moving huge amounts of money in the US - reaches Galicia (Spain) and, therefore, Spain and the rest of Europe.
