Seeking redemption and a shortened prison sentence, young convict Bode Donovan joins a firefighting program that returns him to his small Northern California hometown, where he and other inmates work alongside elite firefighters to extinguish massive blazes across the region. Inspired by Max Thieriot's experiences growing up in northern California fire country.
Is it just me?
I've enjoyed the show from the start and I like Max as an actor and I admire his dedication for getting this personal passion project off the ground and on the air. But...
The character... Really getting on a frelling nerves with the CONTINUAL going rogue, jeopardizing not just his career but everyone else's all around him. Not going to be happy until he causes all his supposed friends to be fired.
To me, its so much now that it is making the character very one dimensional. He only has one mode, one response, one behavior: Blow up his life and that of everyone around him. Now that he's no longer on parole and is free to have a life even if not at CalFire, if it were me as his boss, I'd fire him for the good of everyone else.

Not a bad show if episode 1 is anything to go by. It's also nice to see decent actors including Max Thieriot.
