Set in Mantua, the fiction tells the lives of a group of characters who gravitate around a single event, the brutal murder of seventeen-year-old Angelica. The case is assigned to PM Elena Guerra, who discovers that she is inextricably linked to the victim. The trial can change her life, that of the rampant lawyer Ruggero Barone and that of the defendant, who proclaims herself innocent, Linda Monaco.
