Ceylan is a kind and dutiful daughter, but when her father tries to sell her as a second wife or "kuma," to settle his debts, she flees. Along the way she meets Karan, a wealthy young businessman who takes Ceylan under his protection. The two fall in love, but when Ceylan is framed for the murder of Karan's brother, love turns to hate. Karan marries his dead brother's widow and makes Ceylan become his kuma. Trapped in a house where everyone hates her and unable to return home, Ceylan's only hope is to prove her innocence and perhaps earn back Karan's love.
