The longest running crime series in U.S. television history is making its way across the pond for a UK reworking. Series creator Dick Wolf is set to give Law & Order a makeover-for fans in the UK. Law & Order: UK promises to retain the grittiness of the original series, but be uniquely British.

NOT having the sound? Uh, the sound was there...

membreya here was kind enough to toss me the first ep... ... and after putting it off for a bit i just got round to watching it... straight up, the intro theme was way off, and not having the law and order "doink doink" sound severely hurt my expectations of how i was going to be spending the next 45 minutes...but then.... then i'm pissed that nobody mentioned it has the oh-so-watchable jamie bamber in it, and that he gets to let his accent out of it's cage... that there alone is enough to keep me watching... story wise, it was pretty average... as far as the dialogue goes, it was a bit heavy on the acronyms ... loved the "decidedly british" anachronisms... and did i mention it has jamie bamber in it...?

Watched the 2nd ep yesterday. I have trashed it as a viable Law and Order extension ....HOWEVER if I think of it as "The Bill: criminal prosecution" I can stomach it :D

I agree! I wasn't expecting much and I was not very impressed, might give it a few more eps before I give up on it tho!
Well this little gem aired on iTV today. I grabbed it off of channel BT to see what it's like...from the dry intro to the cockney slang that the americans are bound to miss ... I feel that this show is somewhat of a let down.
I put it in the same category as Law & Order: Case Files :(
