When Texas cop and former Navy SEAL Martin Riggs suffers the loss of his wife and baby, he moves to Los Angeles to start anew. There, he gets partnered with LAPD detective Roger Murtaugh, who, having recently suffered a "minor" heart attack, must avoid any stress in his life.
Yeah, better than expected. I do believe show runners are paying more attention to the web chatter about their shows, especially what it takes to make a reboot work.

Yeah I thought the same and was actually surprised. I haven't given up on it. The chemistry is there and it has some good moments of humour too

So, 4 episodes are out. I fully expected it to be silly and cringeworthy and generally awful but it's actually quite good. Damon Wayans is pretty endearing as Murtagh, especially.
It focuses more on the relationship between Murtagh and Riggs, rather than cases, but that's okay I suppose. Fleshes out the otherwise dull procedural show pretty well.
