Mayor of Kingstown is set in a small Michigan town where the only industry remaining are federal, state, and private prisons, the story follows the McClusky family, the power brokers between the police, criminals, inmates, prison guards and politicians, in a city completely dependent on prisons and the prisoners they contain. It is a stark and brutal look at the business of incarceration.
Sorry, no info about the next episode of Mayor of Kingstown is available yet.
The TV show is either in vacation or waiting to start their new season. When information about future episodes becomes available, it will be posted here.
Anyone else think the writers for Mike's thinking are getting a tad lazy or they are writing him a bit ... ummm slow i the head?
Nope, I think that they are writing that everything is spinning out of control. And it's not like he can do magic, he is trying to keep balance between a bunch of involved parties, which all are criminal, corrupt and not very good with following rules - there by definition is impossible a good state, the best state is to some extent mitigated shitshow.
Regarding the sister-in-law - she already was moved (and did not want to move already in the first place). Merl escaping itself did not change the risk analysis much, it's not like he could not from prison send somebody to do the same. He is a psychopath and is not doing rational things that you can predict. And now likely Mike also will do something that will result in even bigger chaos.

I wouldn't mind seeing a bit of "getting back to basics". He's supposed to be an inmate advocate and that's how he earns a living. Haven't seen him doing any of that for 2 seasons.
Maybe get back to taking care of business... and that leads in to something... an uptick in different family members all reporting the same odd thing going on (their inmate family member is suddenly out of touch for a month, then back like nothing happened but seems scared) (whatever)... that leads to him discovering the new warden is trafficking inmates for slave labor contracts to his business buddies... there's supposed to be 5 prisons in Kingstown so maybe something happening between them all that other people aren't in a position to connect the dots...
But something that acts like a reset for him, his role in the city and the interconnected systems.
Reset Mike - Reset the show.

He's supposed to be the guy to see every angle and broker deals that work with all parties by seeing what they don't.
That's not this season. Stuff that is so very obvious... actions or reactions that should have been immediate are taking forever just to make the plot points.
Just one example: When the sirens went off of an escape it should have been obvious to Mike that it probably was Merl. There's just no version of Mike's world where that would have seemed like a coincidence. Mike would have been the guy to IMMEDIATELY phone is sister-in-law and say "Run. Don't tell me or anyone else where. Someplace with no connections. Just throw a dart in a map and be on the road in 20 minutes." What's the worst that could happen? She be extra safe for a couple weeks until things calm down?

i dont know if i will watch season 4. honestly i was mostly in it for Mike McLusky relationship with iris. i like this grimdark world where he was doing everything to protect her with out just becoming the latest one to use her in any way.
if they had not ended season 3 the way they did i would have watched season 4 hoping for a reunion.
but now its really a lot of mostly disposable phycos left running around with nothing to redeem themselves.
and for the most part i dont care how they will die, or who they kill.
season 3 was good but not great. i don't see how they can make anyone left season 4 a reason to watch the show.
not without loosing any sense of believe-ability.
kingstown is exactly how they portray it. not a person in it is redeemable now.
i don't watch tv to see the dirt and grime i can see out my own windows.
Emma Laird and Jeremy Renner was the reason to watch this show...
i cant think of a original plot in season 4 that just Jeremy Renner can carry the show now.

A pretty good watch, but they need something novel for the upcoming season (next month) to keep me interested. The dynamics are starting to become too predictable.
