McMillions chronicling the stranger-than-fiction story of an ex-cop turned security auditor who rigged the McDonald's Monopoly game promotion for a decade, stealing millions of dollars and building a vast network of co-conspirators across the U.S.
Watched 1x6, the final episode, today. I've enjoyed how they ended it, revealing how the scam was done at the top, showing some personal moments and connections...
After watching 1x2 I have to say... this is really the The Outsider of documentaries... I have to continue watching! :D
Check out the trailer... or watch it right away! :)

Just watched 1x1. Great fun to watch, I especially love FBI Special Agent Doug Mathews! :D
They've re-enacted many events, big and small (without overdoing it), which helps to bring the story back to live, even more so in combination with the video footage from back then. Few documentaries go the (costly) re-enactment path, and for many topics there isn't good video footage that could be used.

Hi arkaycee, please check out the first post of other show threads at https://forum.next-episode.net/viewforum.php?id=97 and edit your post to improve it. :) EDIT: Since you didn't I'm editing your post now.
As you can see here or at https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9148598/ "McMillions" is the official title, so I edited the thread title. I've planned to watch this documentary some day, I've read about this fraud a few years ago.

Part 1 (of a 6-part HBO documentary series) aired last night. I had never heard of this -- but between 1996 and 2001, there were almost zero legitimate winners of the high-value prizes in McDonald's Monopoly game. From the FBI getting a "probably bull****" tip that 3 of the winners were related, this goes through the steps of the investigation. Brilliant.
(BTW - TiVo owners, if you want to create a Season Pass, you can't find it with "McMillions" -- the "$" throws it off. I found it by going to Guide on the TiVo and picking it from the schedule last night).
Also, there might be a movie about this scam some day: https://www.slashfilm.com/ben-affleck-mcmillions-movie/
