This series documents the everyday lives of a group of wild meerkats in the wild Kalahari Desert, located in Southern Africa. This series originally debuted in the UK on 12 September 2005. This series was so successful that Animal Planet picked it up and began airing it on its' channels in Australia, Canada, and the U.S. in 2006. Since then the series has not only become the Animal Planet's most popular series of all time but it is now seen in over 160 countries worldwide.
