Based on Stephen King's 2014 book, Mr. Mercedes follows a demented killer who taunts a retired police detective with a series of lurid letters and emails, forcing the ex-cop to undertake a private, and potentially felonious, crusade to bring the killer to justice before he is able to strike again.
The scene with Brendan Gleeson singing was moving. Had poor Ida in tears.
Yeah, that was priceless. :)

Glad to see the end of Danielle. I don't know whether it was the actress or the character, but she was dead annoying.
Interesting. I thought her demeanor was spot-on, and I actually felt bad for her.
She had every right to be annoying, but what I found to be even more annoying was her persistence in staying with her deadbeat boyfriend. And once she finally mustered up some common sense to leave him, she does something stupid and gets axed in the melon for it. How's that for cause and effect. :D

I've never heard of Cracker until you mentioned it..... I will definitely check out this hidden gem when I get a chance
Make sure you look for the original UK series, not the US version.
omg...theres another version???
imho there is absolutely NO way anyone could EVER redo this better than the original UK version....it would be like redoing the Godfather trilogy .... I wont even attempt to search up the Cracker remake.
...that is ...usless someone says its worth the time. :D

scorpius you're in for a real treat!!!! :)
Just finished s02..going to save s03 so I can binge.
The King shines through so well in this series which cant be said for all other TV-series/Movies made from his books, perhaps even most of them.
I have not read these books, unfortunately I've only read his books up until around ..I think Desperation was the last one...come to think of it I really should start reading him again :D
That's good to know. I plan on diving into Mr. Mercedes as soon as I finish rewatching Supernatural Season 14. I haven't read the novels either, but maybe I will at some point after watching the series. :)

What I think I'd love to see most is a GREAT remake of The Stand perhaps...or Insomnia....ahh..so much to chose from :D
I'm not sure if you know this, but it's funny you should mention The Stand because it's set to air on CBS All Access as a 10-episode limited series. Josh Boone (The New Mutants) will be the executive producer, (along with King and others), director, and also working the script along with Ben Cavell (Homeland) and ofc King. Moreover, Boone and Cavell are both working with King's enthusiastic approval and supposedly, King will be writing "the last chapter" of the series and providing a new coda that isn't featured in the book. There's currently no release date last time I checked but it's expected to be released sometime in 2020.
I've never heard of Cracker until you mentioned it. Damn, on only 46 people's watchlist but it does have 8.4/10 IMDb rating, with 5,108 votes. Released during the 90's too, which is another plus for me, and pretty rock-solid, rave reviews everywhere I looked. I will definitely check out this hidden gem when I get a chance. Thnx h3ctic! :D

From what I can see he's now up to 55 books !!! wow!!! There's SO much awesomeness there...also from his "Bachman-years" - I'd love to see Running Man or perhaps The long walk on the screen...oh and perhaps Rage...but that last one is pretty controversial these days...I think even King made it fall out of print or something.
