Jess is Latinx and a DREAMer. She's brilliant, with a resourceful mind, a natural knack for puzzles and a love for a good mystery.
In search of answers about her family, she winds up embarking on an adventure that will see her uncover the truth about her parents and her own buried history and save a lost Pan-American treasure.
The real question is why that one particular superficial thing is THE most important quality of the central character, so much so, it's the very first thing they want you to know about her..
Really? Her race is THE most important thing?
I read it as an attempt to REALLY make sure the show finds its (intended) target audience. :)
Interestingly, the IMDb show info doesn't mention the Latinx aspect. I don't know where that part of the show info came from.

yeah, I saw jokes about it some time ago, again Americans managed to pull "a problem" from a thin air, I assume because latino/latina are gender binary, must be it :D
thanks for explaining I was wondering, thought it might be some kind of x-rate ( adult only) thing

I was just waiting for a comment like this. :D
All the show's characters can be Latinx for all I care, at least as long as it's a good show! :)
Glad I didn't disappoint lol

Really? Her race is THE most important thing? The fact she is smart and resourceful are secondary to her race lol
Also, Spanish is a gendered language, all nouns in it have a gender. Trying to force made up gender neutral words into such a deep rich culture is honestly, disgusting.
But I agree completely, I don't care who is in the damn thing, as long as its good but if thats what they are focused on and the the most important thing about the main character, I highly doubt it's going to be.
I'm happy to be proven wrong, I actually really like the franchise.

Doubt it, it's just Disney, same mental disorder as Netflix has - some diversity department with clowns running it.
Upd: They are re-imagining tomorrow (that's called also brainwashing and propaganda): https://impact.disney.com/diversity-inclusion/
