Scott Bakula will lead the NCIS spinoff set in New Orleans as Special Agent Pride.
The character is described in casting notes as being "warm" and "driven to do what's right", while also embodying the city itself and being perfectly suited to the "unique region".
NCIS: New Orleans is a more "fictional" show than even NCIS: Los Angeles but, since most TV shows are fiction I suppose we watch for the entertainment factor. Personally, I miss Agent Brody. I didn't like the actor who is playing Agent Gregoric when she was on Graceland. However, since she has settled in as an NCIS Agent, they have let her have a more relaxed, friendly personality and she is growing on me. Some of the character changes seem like a desperate effort to improve the show. We have a lab technician becoming an agent when there are already too many agents and, now, a love interest for Pride. If the show is renewed, who will be on the chopping block?

I agree with scorpius074 evaluation, I don't care for the 'Tammie', frowns too much, doesn't seen to fit in with the other characters. Too aloof most of the time.
CBS has just confirmed that Agent Brody, played by Zoe McLellan, will not be returning to NCIS New Orleans Season 3. The team behind the show is still looking for a replacement. One thing is for sure, they are sticking it out with Agent Tammy Gregorio, played by Vanessa Ferlito.
It was initially thought that CBS would bring her back in a guest role. This would give fitting closure to the character. However, this plan has since been shelved. Since McLellan left, NCIS New Orleans has been struggling to stay afloat.
It is speculated that McLellan left the show because of the nasty divorce that she and estranged husband just had. Jean-Pierre Gillain also gained custody of their son. Additionally, CBS and McLellan failed to reach an agreement on her talent fee. This has ultimately left her without a spot in NCIS.
In any case, the show must go on. So, they decided to enlist the services of Agent Tammy Gregorio. The new character is not a direct replacement as they look very different from each other. However, CBS hopes to have Ferlito in the cast would lure in viewers.
The sudden departure of Agent Brody was a big issue with fans. She was double-crossed by Agent John Russo, her traitorous lover. This cliffhanger was definitely a big blow to viewers who are still waiting for some decent closure.
What happened to Agent Brody is still a big mystery and fans will continue to look for answers. CBS has not indicated how they will tie this loose end together, but the presence of a new character is hoped to bring new life to the show.
Everyone is still hoping that Zoe McLellan and CBS will find some middle ground. At the very least, it would be nice to give a good ending to such an iconic character of NCIS New Orleans.
Personally I wouldn't mind bringing back Zoe's character for closure to what transpired last season, but honestly her character didn't really 'move me' all that much; or at least to the extent of what the viewership numbers state since her absence. I might be a little bias here but I've been in love with everything Vanessa Ferlito has done, and will do, that you can slap me across the face a few times and I'll still tell you the same. I just like what she brings to the table and I feel in the long run her dynamics would be more than enough as a replacement for Brody. Just my 2 cents...
I hope Zoe overcomes here current predicaments and reaches greener pastures eventually but here's hoping that Vanessa will be a permanent fixture in NCIS: New Orleans. It will automatically make it my #1 NCIS show!! :D

Ratings are way down for NCIS-LA. Perhaps it is because the producers forgot this was supposed to be a crime show.
lately it's just been an extended personal exchanges between the characters. The show for 12/15 makes this even worse. Do we really care about their personal problems? A few comments would be OK, BUT lately about half of the show is about personal exchanges...dumb concept.

Second place: original NCIS. But I have come to hate childishness TONY. He is not deserving of his position, and
there is too much 'personal' interplay between the cast. Should be fighting crime, not discussing their
love life and personal problems
And way down in third place is NCIS-LA. This show spends way too much time in personal discussions, especially
between the team members. And the Kensi and Deeks interplay is the worse. II still watch all three, but sometimes I wonder why.

I lived in NO (pre K), and there is no way any office space would have open windows and scenic ceiling fans running if there are people (and computers and paperwork) to protect from the heat and humidity that is excessive pretty much every hour of the entire year. Not to mention the 'sketers. (Unofficial state bird of LA).
Also, while there is a navy presence, it's very small. I'd see a navy ship dock maybe once a month or two. There really isn't a reason to have an NCIS station there.
Also, the show, in typical Hollywood Drama fashion, often shows the team running to the bayou n swamps n such. In reality, the nearest are several hours drive from NO. Like all major cities, it's surrounded by suburbs, then farms, etc.
While I've enjoyed the three episode so far, it also seems to be a way more fictionalized drama than reality.
And, the characters are well played, but really seem to be NCIS Type Cast.
Again, I like the show, but it seems like it will get old, really really quick.

The NCIS's New Orleans field office investigates criminal cases affecting military personnel in The Big Easy, a city known for its music, entertainment and decadence.
