The Facebook Likes Paradox
It's weird. We have about 8000 registered users active on the site, daily. Twice that with the unregistered users.
Yet - under 4k FB likes. Can we go above 10k? If you're a fan - hit the like button and make us feel better :P
We won't spam your feed with updates, and frankly - we rarely post on FB - but it's the principle at stake here! :D

I'd like to think that the majority of users of this lovely site have more sense than to sign up to that fb thingy :)
Maybe that explains the lack of 'likes'
Agree with deke - I won't ever sign up for FB because I like having some semblance of privacy. Hell, I use Firefox's Ghostery add-on so I don't get tracked by the cookies those 'like' buttons drop on your computer (same goes for Google+ and its '+1' buttons).
Me too. I won't ever open a facebook account. You could post on fb that I love your site though! :)
I think the above three comments are accurate. FB itself is loosing users day-after-day. It's just awful.
Get away, facedevil!
another one who uses this site plenty and hates facebook and wouldn't have an account there if they came with free (chocolate) cookies....
Here's a non-fb LIKE +1
dont have a Fb
Sorry i hate Facebook
Be happy it's not the way around ;-)
Facebook is just a tool to see pictures of the people you know.
You can buy 10k likes for 120$ on dedicated sites ... but what are those worth? ;)
But it's a prestige thing :) (with real FB likes, not the fake/bought stuff)
I love this site and have liked you... but everyone else is right facebook is getting crapper by the day, and it was fairly crap to begin with.

Me LIKE you long time!
I hate facebook so much. I especially hate any company/website that offers something exclusivly because 'like us/comment us facebook'.
maybe people have your site instead of facebook :D
comment # 17 by
I like this site but i do not have a Facebook-account. I am not really against community-sites as a concept in itself, as they were before when there was many of them, but i am against - and afraid of - the monster that Facebook has become in so many ways so i will never join.

Weird that all the comments seem to be from Facebook haters...Oxymoron? :P

On my most visited sites on my chrome, Youtube came first , Next-Episode Came second :D
comment # 24 by
I visit next-episode almost daily (I *love* your calendar) but my PC ignores all FlickMyTwitFace links and my router is set to block their login, apps and ad servers.
Facebook is great Social Marketing for businesses and organizations, but end-users should stay away. I do use Google, since all my appointments, work schedule, etc end up in my phone (and hence on Google) anyway, but on my PC I have to open a secured tunnel to view anything there as my security levels do not allow anything so laughably invasive.
Forget Facebook. The Overnet is coming, it will be open sourced, p2p, encrypted end to end, searchable, and most important of all: not driven by a corporate mediacracy.
Tribler 7 will showcase many of those features. Darknets are the future. Centralized DNS servers and even ISPs will eventually become pointless as top-level networks enable people to connect by a seamless mesh network independent of any central control or authority.
Next-Episode is #1 on my most visited sites list, before imgur and my company's workspace. I guess Google doesn't show their own sites in that list :p. Anyway, I liked you on the facebook account I never use.
Wow, so many people with tinfoil hats.
Well, you got my like, on Facebook :-).
i've never paid any attention to stuff above. thank you for not making it eyesoring
liked you on fb
I gave NE a like on FB yesterday. Then I went to my FB page for the first time in a good while. I have a personal no internet policy in my home theater. I figure if a shows worth watching then it deserves 100% of my attention.
i love ne but hate fb. maybe you should think of another way to promote the site?
I like those comments :)
Weird what you get when you ask for it :P
But I agree - every FB like counts and brings monetary value to this site - in one way or another. And in the end operating this site is not for free. But nobody needs to pay for the great service this site privides :D
Until the Overnet is used everywhere this is how it must be atm.
not on FB sry
Already done .. this is pretty much my daily website
comment # 33 by
Sorry not of face. I'm on Reddit tho.
I don't have a life. I really don't. Almost all of my people interaction is within FB and other social media sites. I don't disagree with those here that say they don't have want or need. I know several people who actually have a life and no time for social networks. But it's helped me get through really tough patches. Love this site, by the way.
I really see it as a compliment to the quality of this site and as a sign of intelligence concerning the users, so wear the "few" likes proudly!
Never signed up to FB, and never will.
lies i tell you "i dont have fb" lies.....
Why is there no Twitter button, i want to share things through Twitter
comment # 39 by
In comparison the amount of Google Recommends Next-Episode has is very high.
this site is great, I've been telling friends on fb about it for years. funny how tvguide now has something like this. post on reddit. I'll upvote it.
"Why is there no Twitter button, i want to share things through Twitter" this is actually true, adding twitter would be great
comment # 42 by
You do know you don't have to use your real name on fb neither? :)
Page could use some more updates though...
Let's make a deal. Open API for my like. Deal?
Farce book. Need the damn thing for my business. Been here for years, really great site, but no, I don't think so.
I'm not on Face-F-Book and never will be, so... canīt do the thumbs up thing.
Done. But like most of the others... fb "we hates it; hates it to pieces"
You should add a like-button to make it obvious you're present on Facebook as well. :)
(Or, if you want to appeal to the tinfoilers, add a Facebook-y icon somewhere with a link to your page)

Love this site, don't (won't) have a facebook account. Sorry.
thanks guys and girls, i've felt lonely and alone for so long as im not a member of fb, but looking at the commentaries here i see that im not alone, and are really happy about that (its always good to belong to a collective) on the other side i work in elektronic retail, and if the opurtunity presents itself i'm quick to point out your side as a genious way of keeping track (it is a good way at least, but as i said; im in sales so the superlatives are always on the tip of my toung.
keep up the good work, and thx for a great web page,
and thanks to my friend (dont know his nick here) for showing me this site around 2 years ago :) its been a game changer for me :)

Why care about facebook likes??
I don't do facebook - Sorry. Love this site though. :)
next-episode.net isn't FB. That the thing. I think that most of us using this site do see it as a function -- a really useful one. FB is... well... not that useful so it isn't strange that people here, that seek function over ... crap, aren't liking NE at FB that much since that would serve no function. :)
I like this site very very much, but don't ask me to give up my privacy to prove it ;-)
don't have a facebook account. social networking is social not working:P
comment # 63 by
I don't agree with all the anti FB comments, i think that Facebook is a tool which allows you do certain things and if you have no need to use it that's ok but that doesn't make it a bad site. It's like with other things, you can use them or you don't, that doesn't make them bad or good in general. They are neither.
You have my like! :)
