Damn you americans!!!
Especially american audience, who is just unable to apreciate the hard work done by creators and actors of SG-1! And now the rest of the world will be left without one of the best series of all times... THANK YOU!!!
p.s.: I just hate USA... A little bit more with every day that comes...

pp419, admittedly the show WAS good..but cmon, it's time to let it go...and the use of the word epic is slightly overkill considering it's JUST a TV show :)

I'm so sad:(

I find it worse that they cancelled "Surface"! It leaves an open end.
Cancelling SG is like...well I don't know. 200 Ep is a long run.
but on the other side: every show has come to an end...and i hope it will be a good one!

Not being a rabid fan of this show, I can't say that I'm devastated but I still sympathize with all of you guys... You see, I was in love with a show called Firefly and some jackass exec at the Fox network decided to screw it up and then can it, so I know how it feels! And in the spirit of cooperation between fans of sci fi shows, I'll sign the online petition; you never know.. maybe it will get SG1 a few more seasons and then you'll all be happy again; I'll still be sad though cos they canceled my freakin favorite show! Where are my pills? I need my pills!

should have finished at seaon 8 i like how that ended, i just hope its ended properly, no more surface, or invasion open endings.
Hate to admit it, but I have to agree with every single point you've got there. And I'm a HUGE SG-1 fan ..

maybe i can cheer you up, i read this one at tvguide.com:
Stargate Update: It's "Not Necessarily" the End
As part of an in-depth interview with TV Guide magazine, Stargate SG-1 exec producer Brad Wright reveals that while Sci Fi Channel may have announced the series' end after its 10th season wraps up, the show might go on. Promising "a very satisfying end to the season," Wright tells us that the finale is "not necessarily an end to SG-1 by any means." While Wright's ideal is to take SG-1 back to the big screen, a string of TV-movies — and/or a new spin-off series — might be a more likely outcome. "From MGM's perspective, we don't view SG-1 as a television series, we view it as a franchise, and one with a lot of vibrant life," says studio spokesman Jeff Pryor. "There's absolutely no reason in the world there couldn't be and won't be another series that takes part in the Stargate universe." Noting that even Sci Fi was pleasantly impressed by SG-1's longevity — the expectation at one time was to usher it off the air soon after Stargate Atlantis' debut — original programming exec Mark Stern says, "We love this franchise, and if there are other ways to explore this world, we're certainly open to it. This is not the end of our journey with Stargate by any means."
For much more on Stargate's future, read today's TVGuide.com Insider, and keep an eye out for the Aug. 28 issue of TV Guide.

Doesn't seem too likely that Stargate SG-1 is a goner, no. It's still way too popular, and if Sci-Fi doesn't want to air it anymore, another channel will, for sure. And if that doesn't happen, they have made it very clear that somehow, they'll keep on the work, through dvd's, the big screen, or whatever they need to do to feed us wormhole physics.
I do hope that it stays a TV-Series, though. I can agree that since season 9, it's gone a tad downhill, but it's nothing that can't be fixed, and it still has so much potential.
And as for your essay, unfettered one, I can't be as agreeable as Santah. I'm a huge Stargate fan as well, and I do love what the show has been so far, but that won't change too easily. Even after the horrid ep 200 I still love it.
Long Live Stargate, I say! :P
Oh, and PS, Unfettered One: *quotes "If you are a fan, what more could you possibly ask for."*
You ended that sentence with a preposition, you bastard!

Come on! 3 days of deep mourning about SG1 is enough! Let's move on. If not for botd I wouldn't have visited this site the last 3 days.
