Mon Nov 02, 2015 - Corrected timezone issues on Homepage / Calendar / Episodes / Show Details

We've always had some issues with incorrect dates for some users. All should be fixed as of today.
Please go to your settings and check if your timezone is the correct one (most likely the GMT offset will be the correct one but you'll have to update your location). Here is what's changed:

Homepage lists (Watchlist, Today/Tomorrow/Yesterday, right bar calendar) and the site Calendar should now correctly arrange shows according to your timezone AND the show channel timezone.
in Episodes, the episodes should appear right after they air. This worked well on a day level before, but wasn't as accurate, especially for some users and shows.
On series details page, the countdown is vastly improved, getting local and channel timezone into account, giving you the exact countdown till air time. Also, if local timezone is different than the show channel timezone - a local Date and Time is being displayed for Previous and Next episode.

Nothing revolutionary for most users, but vast changes under the hood, so please let me know if all looks and works ok for you! If not - describe the issue and I'll fix it ASAP!

Shows that aired yesterday (such as Homeland) and are "released" in my timezone (GMT +1) today are listed under Tuesday on the frontpage (which is obviously wrong), but correctly listed under Monday on Calender.

Not quite sure how to fix this, but Sunday's shows are listed under Today"s episodes, but today is Monday. Monday's shows are listed as Tomorrow's episodes but tomorrow is Tuesday. And Saturday's shows are listed as Yesterday's, but yesterday was Sunday.

@vakz - you had a "1 day offset" turned on to -1 in your settings, I've fixed it for you, should be fine now?

@kligy - what do you mean Sunday's shows? Did those shows air on Sunday for you (in your timezone)? If you go to the shows details, you can see the correct airdate adjusted to your timezone, it's most likely in the early AM hours on Monday ...

My calendar has gone a bit skew wif it used to show the days shows were available to download using the offset (modify to -1 if you want the dates when the download will be available instead of air date) but now all my American shows that air on Sunday show under Tuesday.

They do however work on my home page just not my calendar? Any ideas what I have done wrong? (It was working fine yesterday)

My timezone's not in there, I want to set the correct one so it changes with daylight savings? +12 New Zealand, currently +13 for daylight savings. Also shows and definately on the wrong days as I shouldn't have any Sunday my time.

Oh man it was so tetchy to get sorted under the old settings, and now everythings exploded :(.

Ok I think I got the shows onto the correct day in the calender and watchlist, and the home seems ok, however the calender's telling me the current day is yesterday (it's ~8am Nov 3rd [+13gmt] here, calender says it's Nov 2nd). I can't see any settings to fix that?

Just checked and changed my calendar settings to my correct zone but its lagging a day behind. Shows that aired yesterday are listed as todays.

Ok I was wrong, homepage watchlist and page watchlist have different offsets. If I use offset to get the page right then the homepage is wrong & vice versa. This seems like a bug.

Ah found the setting Offset the Calendar view by 1 day (when you can stream or download shows, not the day they air)

While setting proper timezone, I also tried to check "Hide Facebook" on the same page, and it did not save, no matter what. Not that I need it, just thought you'd wanna know :-)

The Watchlist dates are correct but everything in my Calendar is now wrong by a day. It's showing everything is a day behind so The Walking Dead is showing as Tuesdays now instead of Mondays. Thx

I've got the same issue as littlejohn. I've tried unchecking "Offset the Calendar view by" but so far it has not fixed the issue for me. :-\

in order to see when an episode is airedat the US even though I live in Greece , I had to change my timexone to Chicago's ro else by standard, shows was scheduled at my calendar, one day later

Nope sorry, homepage watchlist & page watchlist still out of sync for me (the only change was both moved forward a day).

Calender now says that today is today, but I'll check it tomorrow morning to see if it's wrong again. Calender always used to be off in the mornings/night, I put that down to timezones not being implemented & so days would move based on server time (so I guessed); now with timezones that shouldn't be the case.

Ok now if I change the offset the shows on the hompage shift as well as the watchlists. I don't use the watchlist page often, so I'll just set the offset 0 and not worry about it for now.

Yepp...for me too.A day of in fact.Got my settings correct ( Norway-->Europe-->Oslo ).Not a big deal but would def shake your hand if it will be corrected.

@Paul_Bags - Homepage and Calendar are in sync right now for you and are showing the correct day, but it's possible they go out of sync right when you start a new day.

Please email me at [email protected] if those are out of sync so I can check it and fix it right away. Again - right now they're fine?

Btw, the "watchlist" page is still not affected by the recent changes and can be out of sync with homepage and calendar. Will be fixed today!

I have the same issue as others above. The calendar is showing "today" as Tuesday, which is correct, because it's almost 8 o'clock.

However, all the shows listed under today aired on Sunday and even with the enabled "offset for one day" should be listed under Monday (yesterday)

PS: oddly enough the one German show I have in the list is placed correctly. It airs Sundays and it's listed Mondays.

Are you sure those shows aired on Sunday your time? Or did they air Sunday in the US?

If you want to adjust the settings so that it shows you stuff adjusted to US timezone (as it kinda was before) - simply change your timezone to a US one (for example America/New York) and you'll see shows appearing in their original air date day.

Makes sense?

It's all wrong on this end.

The right list and episodes details are telling me that Quantico, CSI: Cyber and Madam Secretary aired on Monday, but I downloaded them yesterday morning and watched them last night.

Likewise, all of last night's shows, which I can download right now, are set as being aired tonight.

All shows are 1 day late, and I don't have any offsets set.

The offset setting doesn't seem to work for my calendar. I am GMT (London) and I want programmes to be displayed in the calendar cell/day that they were broadcast (so The Walking Dead should be shown in the Sunday cell, rather than Monday as it is now). Is there a way to fix this, please?

There's two places where there are offset settings, one in settings > homepage (the default page when you click settings), the other is under setting > calender and affects the calender. I had this calender setting checked under the old settings, I had to uncheck it with the change over.

@Santah: 11:15pm Nov 3rd here and the homepage and calender are as they should be. If I'm still up after midnight I'll check again.
