Problems clicking on buttons and site functionality?
uBlock Origin recently updated one of their filters which effectively
I don't believe this unfortunate effect was intended - so hopefully they'll revert it soon enough.
As a temporary workaround - please turn off uBlock Origin on Next Episode
uBlock Origin have fixed it. If you're experiencing issues - please force update your adblock filters.

I have always had to have it disabled on this site anyway, as you can't access the free site if you are blocking adverts.

Yeah, disabled here too. After years of using blocking/filter extensions, I know they can sometimes cause weird issues. :)

I always have it disabled here to support the site and also because this is one of few sites that runs tolerable ads. They do not bother me at all. some sites runs the most obnoxious huge ads make the page unreadable and with popups and script-stuff that basically crashes the browser, then they wonder why we can not stand ads and get mad at us for blocking them. Duh. :)

This is a site that is well worth supporting with a Premium Membership and then there is zero concern about using a blocker.

Good to see uBlock fixed their tool. uBlock origin is really a 3rd party script blocker, not exactly an ad blocker. It ends up messing with ads that use off-host-site assets. Viruses can sneak into your devices using malicious ads that have an external script with a virus payload running on an external site. If apps and sites were more careful about screening and testing ads, then there would be no need for 3rd party script blockers. Sadly, browser designers are more concerned about new features and ad revenue than bug fixes and security.

I just came back after not using this site for a while because it was useless when I had uBlock Origin installed. I guess I will give it a try now again if its supposed to work now.

Whitelisting this site has never done any good for me, because the ads on this site are served from other domains. Whitelisting the next-episode.net domain lets the pages fetch ads hosted on the next-episode.net servers, but it doesn't allow ads hosted at any other domain.
As a result, I have to toggle my ad-blocking on & off entirely; which means I have to carefully toggle it on again before going anywhere *else*... (ahem)
Often, I end up spamming the Refresh & Stop commands until I get the page loaded without the "Please turn off ad-blocking" pop-over. (That pop-over blocks all interaction with the site, so I sometimes add *that* as a specific target for blocking.) Surely it incurs unnecessary usage on the webserver when I refresh the page a half dozen times in an effort to stop it at a partially loaded state; but the alternative is to disable my entire ad-blocker, so... ð¤·

@ProphetZarquon - this is not exactly true.
Whitelisting a website in (most) adblockers instructs the adblocker to "bypass all blocking lists and rules when on this domain" which normally allows ads from all ad publishers (hosted on any domain).
What I suspect is going on in your case, you either:
- are using something like Pi Hole, where you can't really whitelist a domain in the way I mentioned above or
- you are using multiple things that may block the ads here (vpn, firewall, antivirus, multiple browser addons, fancy adblocking browsers) and are whitelisting in only one/some of them.
Let me know if the above makes sense. Having to go through what you're describing here every time you load the site sounds terrible and I'd love to help you fix that.

Unfortunately (actually, it's a good thing), whitelisting a domain should not itself allow cross-domain content from blocked domains. I'm not sure what ad-blocker would work the way you described, but I wouldn't want that. Conceivably, a list of "trusted" ad-servers could be added to my whitelist if I were able to figure out which domains will be used; but allowing any site (no matter how trusted) to load scripts from otherwise blocked domains would be highly inadvisable.
I've used a variety of ad-blockers over the years, several of which are no longer adequate for even basic browsing safety. (All the modern ad-blockers I've tried, block cross-domain content from known adservers.) Currently I use AdGuard (& only AdGuard) across all platforms: AdGuard browser extension on desktop ChromeEdge. AdGuard VPN on Android.
If you can tell me a specific adserver domain or set of domains, I should be able to set up a rule to allow pages served from next-episode.net to load content from those specific adserver's domains.
I really appreciate your attention in this matter! It's been a thorn in my side for a long time (outlasting three different ad-blockers & four browsers) & I feel a pang of guilt for the server costs & coal wasted every time I spam that refresh button...

Unfortunately I can't tell you of a specific set of ad servers domains as the ads are being served by Google's AdSense (so they're dynamic and vary a lot and are most likely all blocked by your adblocker).
As for AdGuard - I just installed the AdGuard browser extension on my Chrome browser and whitelisted the Next Episode website (by turning off the toggle that shows up when I click on the extension icon and it now says "next-episode.net protection disabled").
With that - the ads now properly show up and the adblock popup does not.
That does not work for you?
