X-Men: Pryde of the X-Men is an animated television pilot originally broadcast in 1989 on the late Marvel Action Universe television block, featuring Marvel Comics' mutant superheroes the X-Men. X-Men: Pryde of the X-Men served as a pilot for a potential new animated series, but was never optioned, though it did garner a cult following after its release to VHS.

Superman is a 1988 animated Saturday morning television series produced by Ruby-Spears Productions and Warner Bros. Television that aired on CBS featuring the DC Comics superhero of the same name (coinciding with the character's 50th anniversary, along with the live-action Superboy TV series that year). Veteran comic book writer Marv Wolfman was the head story editor, and noted comic book artist Gil Kane provided character designs.

Disney's Wuzzles was an American animated television series created for Saturday morning television, and was first broadcast on September 14, 1985 on CBS. Wuzzles features a variety of short, rounded animal characters (each called a Wuzzle, which means to mix up). Each is a roughly even, and colorful, mix of two different animal species (as the theme song mentions, "...livin' with a split personality"), and all the characters sport wings on their backs, although only Bumblelion and Butterbear are seemingly capable of flight. All of the Wuzzles live on the Isle of Wuz. Double species are not limited to the Wuzzles themselves. From the appleberries they eat to the telephonograph in the home, or a luxury home called a castlescraper, nearly everything on Wuz is mixed together in the same way the Wuzzles are. The characters in the show were marketed extensively.

"He-Man and the Master of the Universe" takes princes Adam on a trip to save enteria from evil. With his trusty companion cringer he calls apon the power of grayskull and is transformed into He-man and battlecat and they battle skeletor and or enemies to save enteria.

The Smurfs are a group of over 100 bluish, three-apple tall creatures who live in the mushroom homes of Smurf Village. They are led by 543-year-old Papa Smurf (who doesn't look a day over 530). Their lives would be perfect were it not for the villainous Gargamel, a wizard who spends his days trying to capture them to eat, turn into gold, or for some other evil reason.

Astronaut John Blackstar's shuttle passes through a black hole and crashes on the planet Sagar. He is rescued by the gentle Trobbits who live under the tyranny of the evil Overlord who possesses the Power Sword. John Blackstar then possesses the Star Sword. When the two weapons are combined, they form the Power Star, the most powerful weapon imaginable. Blackstar aids the Trobbits' resistance with his dragon Warlock, Klone the Shape-Shifter, Storm the Amazon, and Mara the Sorceress in the battle against Overlord.

The Trollkins are a race of trolls that had green, blue, and purple faces and lived in an underground, or rather in a tree, community called Trolltown. The episode plots follow the adventures of Blitz, Pixlee, and their pet companion Flooky. Blitz's father Mayor Lumpkin was somewhat of a short, incompetent, hot-headed, fumble-mouth of a mayor. Pixlee's father Sheriff Trollsom and his two deputies Dotty and Flake were just as incompetent and fumble minded in maintaining order in Trolltown. Nevertheless, there was no complete love lost amongst the citizens of Trolltown, despite the escapades, including a renegade motorcycle gang known as the Troll Choppers who terrorized the citizens of Trolltown from time to time, but was merely a nuisance, rather than a threat to everyone.

1980's CBS cartoon series, Drak Pack, showed the adventures of "Drak Jr." (Dracula's nephew), Howler and Frankie (the teenage descendants of The Werewolf and Frankenstein's monster) as they teamed up to fight the forces of evil. In this case, "evil" was O.G.R.E., the Organization for Generally Rotten Endeavours, led by Dr. Dred and his henchmen Toad, Mummy-Man, The Fly, and Vampira. The voice cast starred Alan Oppenheimer ("Skeletor" of He-Man) as uncle Count Dracula, Jerry Dexter ("Alan" of Josie and the Pussycats) as Drak Jr., Bill Callaway ("Aquaman" of Super Friends) as Howler and Frankie, Hans Conried (narrator of many Dr. Seuss specials) as Dr. Dred, Don Messick ("Scooby" on Scooby-Doo) as Toad and The Fly, Chuck McCann ("Ben/The Thing" on Fantastic Four) as Mummy-Man and Julie McWhirter (the voice of the animated Jeannie) as Vampira.

Flash Gordon blasts off to the planet Mongo with girlfriend Dale Arden and scientist Hans Zarkov to prevent evil dictator Ming the Merciless from dominating the universe. In attempting to put an end to Ming's villainy, Flash receives the aid (and often the hindrance) of Prince Barin of Arboria, the Hawk Men led by King Vultan, Queen Fria of the ice-covered land of Frigia, Thun the Lion Man and Ming's sexy, scantily-clad daughter Aura, who has a powerful attraction for Flash.

Battle of the Planets follows the adventures of the teenage-hero team G-Force. Mark, Jason, Princess, Keyop, and Tiny travel in The Phoenix to battle the evil forces of Zoltar from Planet Spectra. G-Force is guided by Chief Anderson and 7-Zark-7, but also receives help from Colonel Cronos, President Kane, Susan, and even 1-Rover-1. They are based in Center Neptune, which is far beneath the sea off the west coast of the United States.

When ace test-pilot Steve Austin's ship crashed, he was nearly dead. Deciding that "we have the technology to rebuild this man", the government decides to rebuild Austin, augmenting him with cybernetic parts which gave him superhuman strength and speed. Austin becomes a secret operative, fighting injustice where it is found.

During a rafting excursion of an uncharted river canyon, Professor John Butler, wife Kim, kids Katie and Greg and family dog Digger get caught up in a mysterious whirlpool and resurface in a world of prehistoric creatures. Now everyday is an exercise in survival for the adventurous Butler family. They befriend a helpful cave-dwelling family and together must contend with an angry brontosaurus and a dangerous sabertooth tiger - and don't forget the earthquakes and volcanoes!
