Takeo Gōda is a large gorilla-like boy who, despite being admired by his male peers, has had little luck with romance in his life as every girl he develops a crush ends up falling for his best friend, Makoto "Suna" Sunakawa, who ends up rejecting them anyway. Shortly after entering high school, Takeo rescues a girl named Rinko Yamato from being molested on the train, though ends up getting suspended after punching the molester at the police station. Rinko, thankful for her rescue, takes an interest in Takeo and offers to bake various treats for him, though Takeo assumes that Makoto is the one she likes.

Among the other residents are the nosy Ichinose, the sexy Akemi Roppongi, and the mysterious Yotsuya. The others are given to having wild parties which makes it difficult for Godai to study. Into this mayhem comes the recently widowed Kyoko as the new live-in manager. Godai falls for her, but doesn't have the nerve to tell her. As time passes, their relationship slowly develops amid life at Maison Ikkoku, despite all sorts of romantic hurdles.

Hyakujuu Ou GolionHyakujuu Ou Golion

GoLion's story starts in the year 1999, when the planet Altea is subdued and enslaved by the Galra Empire. Five space pilots return to Earth to find the planet annihilated by thermonuclear war. Eventually, the explorers are captured and enslaved, and forced to fight for their lives in Emperor Daibazaal's arena. The young pilots escape and eventually land on the planet Altea, where they discover the secret of the mighty sentient robot GoLion, the only weapon powerful enough to defeat Emperor Daibazaal's forces. Thousands of years ago, GoLion was once an arrogant robot who, after defeating several beastmen, tried to challenge a goddess to battle, but failed. To teach him humility, the goddess separated him into five pieces in the form of five lion robots that sailed through space and crash-landed on Altea to lay in wait for those who would one day reawaken him to fight evil once again.
