At the 2016 Television Critics Association winter press tour, NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke revealed that the network had discussions with Dick Wolf about a fourth series in the franchise centered on the legal system called Chicago Law. Salke has since confirmed that the series is officially in development.

He eventually finds Grady and discovers that Grady's parents, who were Canadian missionaries in Vietnam, were killed and the boy was left to fend for himself. Adam gets Grady a job at a bar he owns with his friend, Malloy. Grady soon begins helping Adam on cases using the knowledge he picked up living on the streets along with his martial arts training.

In a small town called Sparta, the police chief is constantly dealing with murder, rape, corruption, racism, and drunken driving. The show is based on the 1967 film of the same name and follows the chief as he navigates the challenges of maintaining law and order in a town filled with crime.
