Two clans are opposed: the Richer, an influential family at the head of the Richer Companies, led by Philippe, a man respected by all, and the Martineau, frowned upon agricultural producers, led by the rude Michel. While a major transaction must transfer the company to the Martineaus, an unforeseen event turns everything upside down. The two families, and their heirs, find themselves drawn into a brutal conflict with unsuspected consequences.

À cœur battant takes us into individual stories, but at the same time, they concern the whole family and society. These stories will allow us to better understand the dynamics of violence, to also measure the extent to which we live in a culture of violence where everyone in our families does not take enough measure of it. Are we too tolerant of violent words, looks, attitudes, gestures and controlling habits?
