The story of how the British special forces unit, the SAS, came to be formed, based on the book by Ben Macintyre. The show will explore the thinking that led to the creation of a new form of combat in the deserts of North Africa during World War II. It will celebrate the glory, action and camaraderie at the heart of this story, and delve into the psychology of the flawed, reckless but astonishingly brave group of maverick officers and men who formed the SAS in the darkest days of World War II.

The show spans the genres of romance, science fiction, history, and adventure. It follows Claire, a married WWII combat nurse, who mistakenly steps back in time to year 1743 where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world of adventure that sends her on the run and threatens her life.

Lili is 17 years old. In occupied France, she encounters war before love, and joins the Resistance. Through the interconnecting destinies of its teenage heroes, Resistance tells the story of young people going to any lengths to defend their country.
