The series is understood to be inspired by the life of disgraced Australian wellness guru Belle Gibson, who had a huge following on social media where she claimed to be suffering from cancer but keeping the illness in check through health and wellness remedies. She later confessed that none of it was true.

After a passionate one-night stand in a friend's NestShare, Lina discovers that her affair has been captured by cameras hidden in the apartment. Amid mounting threats and paranoia, she sets out to unmask an insidious voyeur, only to realise that the threat is closer and more dangerous than she could have imagined.

The plot follows a man who goes missing (Darren Gilshenan) from a tiny outback town of only 12 residents, and his estranged son Andy, played by Feldman, who journeys from the US to find him. Another outsider, Cassie (Perry Mooney), comes to Andy's aid, and they find themselves in increasing danger as they delve into the town's secrets.

The man realizes the crown is missing and transforms into the Font Demon, pursuing the girl. She heads into the forest towards the Monkey King's statue. Just as she reaches the statue, grappling to put the golden crown on its head, she is yanked back by the demonic power of the Font Demon. But it's too late. The Monkey King has been released. He appears, and parries with the Font Demon, eventually overpowering him. Having released the Monkey King, Tripitaka is shocked to find him indifferent to the Scholar's mission. Struggling to keep him on side, and still being pursued by Demons, she finds help in the unlikeliest of places.

Three young mermaids Lyla, Sirena, and Nixie are left out of the full moon celebrations to guard the Mako Island. But when they allow two human boys enter the island and one of the boys, Zac, ends up with a tail and powers, the pod has to leave. Girls are cast out as a punishment. To be let back in they have to travel to the mainland, get legs and make sure that Zac looses the gifts Moon Pool gave him.
