Criminal Record is a powerful, character-driven thriller set in the heart of contemporary London. An anonymous phone call draws two brilliant detectives into a confrontation over an old murder case - one a young woman in the early stages of her career, the other a well-connected man determined to protect his legacy. The series touches on issues of race, institutional failure, and the quest to find common ground in a polarized Britain.

A Tokyo detective travels to London to look for his long lost younger brother, now involved with the Yakuza (Japanese mob) and wanted for the murder of a Japanese businessman. With the help of a young Japanese-British hustler who helps the detective navigate London, the mystery continues to unravel. His family's honour, and the fragile peace between the warring gangs back in Tokyo, is at stake.

This is a re-imagining of the Frankenstein myth incorporating elements from the investigative and horror genre. The show is set in Regency London in 1827, and follows the investigations by Inspector John Marlott.
