Adapted from the 2016 Marvel comic book series of the same name, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur follows the adventures of 13-year-old Lunella Lafayette - one of the smartest people in the world, although not everyone believes her - and Devil, her pet dinosaur, who arrived in the present day thanks to an accidental time vortex. The concept is an updated take on Captain America and X-Men co-creator Jack Kirby's 1978 Devil Dinosaur comic book series.

In ancient Egypt, an evil sorcerer, Scarab, kills the pharaoh's son, Prince Rapses, so he can use the boy's soul to become immortal. Entombed alive for his crime (Rapses' body was also never found), Scarab revives in the modern world and begins his search for Rapses' reincarnation, a San Francisco-dwelling boy named Presley Carnavon. Rapses' bodyguards, Ja-Kal, Rath, Armon, and Nefer-Tina, rise from the dead to protect him from Scarab. Each of the mummies is aligned with the power of an Egyptian god and are able to call upon it for magical armor and powers to fight superhuman evildoers, although once their strength is exhausted they must rest in their sarcophagi to regain the ability. The mummies also have the power to make horrifying face, usually employed to scare away nosy bystanders. In addition to Scarab, the mummies often had to contend with gods and spirits from Egyptian myth summoned to the modern world, including Anubis, Set, Geb, Apep, Bast, Sekhmet and Bes, usually as part of one of Scarab's schemes that went out of his control.

A renowned scientist, Bruce Banner undergoes a hideous mutation of unimaginable proportions. Now, mentally at that of a caveman, Bruce can no longer function as a scientist but instead a primitive beast who can neither control his rage or unnaturally given super-strength. Baloo, is one of the main characters in the series. Caring, nice, lazy and always hungry no matter what. He always make sure that the cubs stay together and do not have any problems with each other. Louie the ape is a crazy animal who likes to have fun and wants to be king one day of the jungle. Bagheera is a smart cleaver and knowledgable panther who doesn't get into much trouble. Hathi is the one of the main cubs that keeps the cubs together also and makes a troop to make sure that nothing keeps them away. Shere Kahn is the selfish most jealous cub around that wants to be king of the jungle so that he can rule it. And Kaa is a slithering snake that likes to hypnotize many animals around the jungle. With these cubs staying together, they form a family and take there times to spend with each other before growing up and becoming real adults animals.
