The Swabian term "chachappel" lovingly describes a "dye" or "depp", which stumbles naively and easily through life. This is how our hero Carlo Brenner, who comes from an Upper Swabian provincial village and is looking for himself, is also what he feels like.
Set in 2070, the series picks up after a mysterious global catastrophe with what remains of Europe fractured into countless micro-states. Several so-called 'Tribes' fight for dominance over the continent as three siblings set out to change the fate of the new Europa.
A group of young supermarket employees face the everyday challenges of the branch. Under the direction of branch manager Thorsten, the employees try to cope with all catastrophes and dramas, such as stealing employees, a mouse plague or dissatisfied customers, from store opening to closing time. It is not uncommon for employees to reach their limits.
