Our story, unfolding via the stop-motion animation of baby dolls repurposed as a grown-up cast of characters, hinges on an investigation into the mysterious disappearance of fictional metropolis Mega City's most famous magnate. High Fidelity, a reimagining of Nick Hornby's 1995 novel and the 2000 feature film, centers on the ultimate music fan, a record store owner who's obsessed with pop culture and Top Five lists.

After being released on good behavior from a 15-year prison stint, Tracy is shocked to see just how much the world has changed in his absence. A support group for people who think they have been abducted by aliens is the subject of a snarky feature piece by skeptical journalist Wyatt Jones. The more he digs into the oddballs' claims, however, the more confused, intrigued and seduced he becomes.
